Oktoberfest Has Arrived!!

If you aren’t from the Kitchener-Waterloo area then you may no know that Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most exciting times of the year! With a huge German community, the KW region is very well known for holding the biggest Oktoberfest celebration outside of Germany itself. There are a lot of amazing things happening at school as well as in the community that can help make your Thanksgiving weekend one to remember!

To start off, all this week CSI is hosting a Farmers Market on various days across most campuses! This is a great way to get some fresh foods that would make a delicious meal. I went last year and all the veggies I got were so tasty!

On top of that, the event that I am probably the most excited for is the Oktoberfest Family Breakfast! The Conestoga College Culinary Arts students will be helping to prepare a FREE breakfast for the community! Between 7:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on October 6th at the Bingemans Conference Center, come enjoy a breakfast full of pancakes, sausage and more!

Bingemans is also host to many Oktoberfest parties! These are all of the 19+ variety but I have seen promoters around campus with some cool discounts and free swag so make sure you check it out!

Other than that there’s the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on Monday morning, Rogers Hometown Hockey and dozens of more awesome events happening this weekend so if you’re in town make sure to check them out!
